Conical Strainer
Flow-Tek Conical Strainers are designed for applications requiring the removal of relatively small quantities of solid contaminants, particularly where routine cleaning is infrequent. They are widely utilized in gaseous media such as steam, compressed air, nitrogen, and natural gas systems.Their compact and inherently strong cylindrical configuration provides excellent structural integrity, allowing them to withstand the elevated pressures commonly encountered in these services — often reaching up to 6000 psi.In steam applications, high temperature becomes a critical operating factor. It is not uncommon for steam pressures of 1500 psi to correspond with temperatures approaching 1000°F. Flow-Tek Conical Strainers are engineered to maintain dependable performance under these demanding pressure and temperature conditions.
Conical Strainers are built to deliver efficient start-up and in-line protection in piping systems where space, strength, and simplicity matter. Their adaptable design allows installation in both horizontal and vertical pipelines, ensuring flexibility during plant setup or maintenance.For optimal debris control, the screen must be positioned on the downstream side so that collected solids remain securely trapped until removal. The precisely engineered stainless steel screen assembly ensures accurate fitment within the body, while the machined seating surface forms a reliable seal that prevents unwanted bypass.
